From January to February 2024, my country's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry continued to grow. According to company information and industry association estimates in the lithium battery industry specification announcement, the country's total lithium battery production exceeded 117GWh from January to February, a year-on-year increase of 15%.

In the battery sector, the output of energy storage lithium batteries exceeded 17GWh from January to February. The installed capacity of power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles is approximately 50GWh. From January to February, the country’s total lithium battery exports reached 61.94 billion yuan.

In the first-level material segment, the output of cathode materials reached 277,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%; the output of anode materials reached 230,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; the output of separators reached 2.45 billion square meters, the same as the same period last year; the output of electrolytes reached 135,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%.

In the second-level material segment, the output of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide was 75,000 tons and 41,000 tons respectively. The average prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (micron powder grade) from January to February were 97,000 yuan/ton and 92,000 yuan/ton.
